Spring is in the Air and Summer is Just Around the Corner!

I don’t know about you, but when these seasons come around I am usually excited to alter some things in my life to prepare for the seasonal changes!  Keep reading to see the TOP FOUR tips I recommend for this upcoming summer!

Drink Plenty of Water.

Drink plenty of water.Drink plenty of it, but most importantly…make sure it’s quality! I encourage you to drink between one to two liter per day. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to start consuming water. Be sure to keep a bottle with you and make it a habit!

Staying hydrated helps increase your energy levels, assists in regulating blood pressure, improves your digestive system and plumps your skin cells keeping your skin look less wrinkled!

Keep Moving.

Make exercise a part of your daily routine. Choose activities that increase your heart rate and make you sweat! Sweat is a simple way to rid toxins. Another added benefit to moving is that you will feel better and see those stress levels decrease!

No Sugar. No Grains.

No Sugar. No Grains. It is difficult to cut out all sugar as it seems like sugar is in everything! Be aware of you and your family’s intake. Read labels and look at sugar content. Know what you are eating. Sugar is hidden in virtually every boxed food such as cereal and crackers! Also, be sure to avoid all artificial sweeteners! Pure stevia is a great alternative if you just have to have that sweetness!

Intermittent Fasting.

Intermittent FastingRecently, I have written about the many benefits of intermittent fasting, including weight-loss and hormone optimization. You can begin by cutting out your snacks and then simply skip breakfast and drink water and/or organic coffee. Add a good fat such as coconut milk, grass-fed heavy cream, MCT oil, butter or grass-fed collagen powder. This good fat will prevent blood sugar dips throughout the day. Eat a lunch high in protein to maintain energy. Make sure at dinner time you eat plenty of good carbohydrates like broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus and make sure you have eaten plenty of food and you are satisfied! Another perk of intermittent fasting…this will also help promote restful sleep!
